Dylan Groenewegen back in the Tour: ‘Fabio and I had beautiful duels before the accident, hopefully again’ | Tour de France

By Daniel Dwarswaard

That tingling in the body just before the Tour de France. That adrenaline in the body during a bunch sprint. That stress just before a bunch sprint. The attention, the muscles rolling with those other monkeys on the sprinter’s rock. The frustration afterwards, or just that unprecedented kick. Dylan Groenewegen (29) missed it. It has been three years since he rode the Tour. Then, in 2019 in Brussels, he seemed destined to take the first yellow jersey. But he fell and the yellow went to his lead-out and roommate Mike Teunissen. A few days later Groenewegen still won, his fourth Tour stage in total.
