Dwayne Johnson: The Internet is making fun of new wax figures

A Paris wax museum unveiled the Johnson figure – it just doesn’t correspond to the original.

On Monday (October 16), the Grévin Museum in Paris unveiled a new wax figure of Dwayne Johnson. Although it shows the typically muscular physique, the tattoos and the shaved head of the actor and former professional wrestler, the wax figure still doesn’t look exactly like him. People on the internet noticed this too: “Yuck! That’s not the skirt, maybe his stuntman lol,” reads a comment under the reveal post on the wax museum’s Instagram channel.

Fans lined up to take a photo with the wax mime, who is positioned with his arms crossed, wearing a blue collared shirt and navy pants. However, people on social media were not very enthusiastic about Johnson’s portrayal. The focus of the criticism is the skin color of the wax figure. This would show Dwayne Johnson as a white person instead of as PoC. One Instagram follower commented: “Um, they didn’t mix the colors right! Doesn’t seem to look much like him.”

Johnson was born in 1972 to an African-Canadian father and a Samoan mother who was born in California. He first grew up in Hawaii and later moved to Florida.
