According to his own words, Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson (50) does not want to run for the office of US President for the time being.

“That’s off the table,” the actor and former wrestler said in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. “I love our country and everyone in it. And I love being a dad too,” he explained. During the “critical time” in his daughters’ lives, the most important thing for him is to be there for them.

He still remembers being busy and traveling a lot when his eldest daughter was growing up. “And that’s what the presidency would do,” he continued. “So my top priority is my daughters.”

Johnson shared the interview excerpt on his Instagram account on Sunday (local time). He was approached by “the most influential politicians” from both major parties whether he wanted to run in the election in two years, he wrote. “It makes me humbled, grateful and inspired to even have these conversations, because I am not a politician and have never aspired to be one.” But he was “patriot through and through”.

Johnson, nicknamed “The Rock” during his wrestling career, has a 21-year-old daughter from his first marriage to film producer Dany Garcia. The marriage was divorced in 2008. In 2019, Johnson married singer Lauren Hashian. The couple have two daughters aged six and four.
