DVHN Comment | The government supported extensive wind projects in the Groningen and Drentse Veenkoloniën and made a mess of it. That is only now in a report, but it was already clear when the flames hit the pan years ago

The government has played a very dubious role in the construction of the N33 and Drentse Monden and Oostermoer wind farms. Research by the University of Groningen and the national Verwey-Jonker Institute into the state of affairs shows that the population has been sidelined. Opponents did not get a foothold in the government. The procedure was designed in such a way that the participation was a sham, according to the researchers. Nothing was done with alternative proposals from opponents. The Tom Postmes (RUG) and Ron van Wonderen (Verwey-Jonker Institute) find it understandable that people felt powerless and frustrated.
