Harry Vermeer (36) from Spakenburg, in the Dutch province of Utrecht, went to Ukraine full of ideals to fight with the Foreign Legion against the Russians. But he turned around shortly after the border when it turned out that he was being recruited by a shady ‘legion’ without proper weapons.
