Dutchman confesses to stabbing in German school: girl (7) and woman (61) victim | Inland

The investigation into a motive is still ongoing, which will also include a mental illness. A politically motivated crime is excluded.

According to the police, the girl was a random victim and as far as we know did not know the man. She was in the school with some other children for a holiday program. By “courageous” intervention, the 61-year-old woman managed to stop the attack, after which the Dutchman fled.

The used kitchen knife was later found in his home in Esslingen. The man had recently asked a passerby in Stuttgart to warn the police because he was responsible for the stabbing.

Both victims are in hospital with serious injuries.
