Dutchman arrested in connection with stabbing at German primary school NOW

A Dutch man was arrested Friday evening in the German city of Stuttgart for a stabbing at a primary school in the nearby southern German city of Esslingen. A seven-year-old girl and a 61-year-old woman were seriously injured in the stabbing, according to police.

It is unclear what motive the perpetrator had and what the relationship is between him and the victims. The girl and the woman are in the hospital. The 24-year-old man, who lives in Esslingen, attacked them at the entrance of the school.

There were only a few children in the school building at the time of the stabbing. According to the police, they received psychological help.

After his act, the man fled. He was later arrested Friday after approaching a passerby in Stuttgart. The man told the person that he was responsible for the stabbing, after which he asked the passerby to call the police.
