Dutch winners at the European All-Around Speed Skating Championships. Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong even managed a hat-trick. The Germans followed.
As expected, the German speed skaters clearly missed the podium at the European All-Around Championships. The best of a German trio was Michelle Uhrig in the title fights in Hamar, Norway, with eighth place. The gold medals went to the Netherlands to Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong and Patrick Roest.
Uhrig Eighth – Götze Eleventh – Ehselun’s Twelfth
After four competitions over 500 meters, 3,000 meters, 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, Uhrig ended up 1:58.48 minutes behind the winner Rijpma-de Jong. The second German starter, 19-year-old Marlen Ehseluns from Berlin, was twelfth overall. In the men’s category, 22-year-old Konstantin Götze came eleventh overall.
