Dutch tourist becomes unwell in bus Seville, football supporter comes to the rescue | Inland

Ian Johnson was in the Spanish city to watch Scottish football club Rangers FC play in the Europa League final. He went on a bus tour with a friend. Suddenly he saw an older Dutch man, late 60s early 70s, become unwell. Johnson sprang into action right away.

Kiss and hug

“His wife started screaming for medical help,” Johnsen told the BBC. Even before the ambulance arrived, he started to resuscitate the Dutchman. “I got him off his chair,” Johnson says. He then took the camera that the Dutchman had around his neck. “He stopped responding, so I put him in the aisle of the bus and started CPR.”

The men were able to help the Dutch tourist out of the bus and into the ambulance. The elderly man was taken to hospital. It is unclear how he is doing.

The incident impressed Johnson: “I felt nauseous all day. I was afraid he wouldn’t make it.” The wife of the Dutch tourist was grateful to Johnson for his help: she gave him a kiss and a hug. “My message to everyone: learn CPR, you can save someone’s life with it,” Johnson said.
