Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte deleted text messages and chose which ones were kept

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte (VVD) has systematically erased text messages from his old telephone for years to save storage space, he says. He forwarded messages that he himself thought were “relevant for administrative decision-making” to his officials. This is not according to the law, because messages from government leaders are considered public administrative documents that can be requested.
