Dutch police confiscate Kempense taxi bus after death of 4-year-old boy in Baarle-Nassau Baarle-Hertog

Baarle-HertogThe Dutch police seized the taxi bus that was involved in a fatal accident in the enclave municipality of Baarle-Hertog/Baarle-Nassau on Tuesday afternoon. A 4-year-old boy was killed. It concerns a vehicle of a Kempen company that transports disabled people.

The accident happened around 4.15 pm on Herenstraat in Baarle-Nassau. The border between Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau runs right through the street. “The Belgian bus, driven by a 36-year-old woman, was driving in the direction of Taxandriastraat in the Baarle-Hertog territory and just then the collision happened. The police and ambulance service were called,” said a spokesman for the Zeeland-West-Brabant police. A trauma helicopter from the Dutch emergency services also flew to the site of the accident.

“Help was of no avail. The 4-year-old boy from Baarle-Nassau died on the spot. The street was fenced off on both sides. Traffic specialists from the police investigated the traces of the collision on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The taxi bus belonged to a Kempen transport company that is responsible for the transport of disabled people.
