Dutch musician Pierre Kartner is dead. The songwriter became especially popular with children in 1977 after composing the familiar song about the Smurfs Au pays des schtroumpfs, In the land of the Smurfs – song.

The song became a smash hit and sold more than 18 million copies.

Pierre Kartner was also known as an artist father Abraham.
