A century ago, Dutch farmland was crossed by a network of thousands of kilometers of hedges and wooded banks. Land consolidation and barbed wire brought this to an abrupt end after the Second World War. NU.nl spoke to four people from a growing movement who want to restore the hedges, to get nature back into the landscape.
