Dutch farmers take to the streets on March 11 for “biggest demonstration of all time” | Abroad

“This time not only with the farmers’ views, but with all the views and problems that are currently playing in our society,” says the FDF chairman. “From the surcharge affair to the gas crisis, to the sagging houses in Groningen, to the water damage in Limburg. People get a voice on this with us on stage.”

According to him, among others, PVV chairman Geert Wilders and Wybren van Haga (Group Van Haga) are present. “It will be a full program and we hope to show the whole of the Netherlands that there really is a need for a different policy”.

“We will make our move just before the provincial elections,” said Van den Oever at the end of last year. Those elections will be held on March 15. The farmers are protesting, among other things, against the nitrogen policy and the forced buy-out of farmers.

Environmental group Extinction Rebellion is also planning an action that day: they want to block the A12 motorway near The Hague again.
