Dutch court acquits suspected murder case who was sentenced to 30 years in prison | Abroad

The victim was shot with several salvos from a Kalashnikov in September 2015 during a chase in the car. As he stumbled into a garden, he was shot again in the back.

Sergio K. was imprisoned for more than five years and two months for the murder. But during the appeals process, the case took a remarkable turn. After the Public Prosecution Service again demanded 30 years in September 2021, the name of a fourth person was mentioned in the public gallery, who would have committed the murder instead of Sergio K. Jurandy T., who was sentenced to life in prison in the first instance, also said that K. had been wrongly convicted. After investigation, Sergio K. was provisionally released a month later.

The Public Prosecution Service demanded another 30 years in prison last month. But according to the court, it is “not without doubt unlikely” that someone else committed the murder. However, the designated person is abroad and could not be found.

Two co-defendants, Xionel B. and Jurandy T., were sentenced to 27 years in prison today. Initially, they had been sentenced to 30 years and life imprisonment respectively. T. has confessed that he fired the fatal shots while B. was behind the wheel during the pursuit of several hundred meters.
