Dutch cargo ship sunk off Danish coast after collision, crew rescued from sea | Abroad

A Dutch cargo ship sank off the coast of Denmark after colliding with another ship. Seven people on board were rescued from the sea by the Danish navy and a helicopter. No one was hurt.

The ship, the 89 meters long Helgecollided with the for unknown reasons Wild Cosmos, a ship flying the flag of the Bahamas. That happened 37 kilometers from Ringkyubing off the west coast of the Jutland peninsula. The Dutch ship soon made water.

The ships are both heading in the same direction. The Helge would be en route from Antwerp to Norway and the Wild Cosmos from South Africa to Estonia.

The Danish navy sent several ships and two helicopters to the site. The rescued crew members were flown to a hospital in Esbjerg. The Wild Cosmos had no major damage.
