In Düsseldorf, buyers could be offered four periods for ordering from next year.
So far, the fashion industry has come together twice a year in January and July to order in Düsseldorf, where trade fairs are held in addition to open showrooms. From 2023 there could be four dates, said Angelika Firnrohr, Managing Director of Fashion Net Düsseldorf eV, on Friday in Düsseldorf.
An additional week in mid/end of May and mid/end of November would be conceivable. These dates are particularly interesting for clothing brands that show more than two collections a year to present their intermediate collections. According to Firnrohr, that would be a new service that would offer the fashion trade orientation through the additional, concentrated opening of the showrooms.
She is already talking to the brands that operate showrooms in Düsseldorf. In the end, it would be desirable if a number of 60 to 80 brands would open their rooms to buyers on the additional order dates, says Firnrohr. Whether the two new dates will come could be October or November.
