The February Extraordinary Meeting of the Council Board was held in Galatasaray. At the meeting, President Dursun Özbek made remarkable statements. Speaking about the club’s debt situation, Özbek said, “There are 8-9 fronts opening to Galatasaray. We are fighting a great fight with my friends.” He also used the following expressions:

“While we were paying around 200 million in interest, while the interest rates were around 12%, we paid these interest figures. When we look at the period between June 1 and November 30, we paid around 540 Million TL in interest while the interest rate was around 35%. This has not slowed down yet. Today The interest rate is around 45%. Interest is a bleeding wound of Galatasaray. Galatasaray is extremely successful in sports activities. If Galatasaray had gotten rid of this interest burden, there would have been a very good profitability.
We have said since day one that we need to get out of this interest spiral. Our work continues at a high level. We will get Galatasaray out of this interest spiral in a short time by paying our debt from the restructuring. You stood by us throughout this process.
