The company was also able to grow significantly in the final quarter.
According to preliminary figures, the MDAX company reported that incoming orders rose by 16.7 percent to around EUR 5.0 billion last year. Sales increased by 22 percent to 4.3 billion euros. EBIT before special items increased by 16.6 percent to EUR 232.2 million. The EBIT margin before special items was 5.4 (previous year: 5.6) percent. After taxes, 134 million euros were earned, an increase of 58.1 percent.
On a quarterly basis, incoming orders fell slightly by 0.5 percent to 1.08 billion euros. However, sales increased significantly by 23.2 percent to 1.2 billion euros. The EBIT before special effects was 83.7 million euros, an increase of 33.6 percent compared to the previous year. After-tax profit increased by 56.4 percent to EUR 56.2 million.
In the current year, Dürr AG expects sales to grow to between EUR 4.5 and 4.8 billion. Incoming orders should be between 4.4 and 4.8 billion euros. The EBIT margin before special items should increase significantly and reach a range of 6.0 to 7.0 percent. Earnings after taxes are targeted at 160 to 210 million euros.
“In 2022 we benefited greatly from the alignment of our technology offering with the future topics of sustainability, e-mobility and automation,” said Dürr CEO Jochen Weyrauch according to the announcement. “Many customers invest in these areas, even in the face of economic headwinds, in order to secure their long-term competitiveness. This makes our business exceptionally resilient.”
The final annual report for 2022 is scheduled to be published on March 16.
