During Seven Hills Challenge, young riders get a taste of 7 cycling disciplines
The Seven Hills challenge, a nod to the hills around Kemmel, is based in France, where they have been organizing the journée de la jeunesse, multidisciplinary cycling events, for years. Eli Declercq, Seven Hills Callenge: “We feel that in a normal road race it is sometimes difficult for everyone to have fun and enjoy cycling. We want to inspire boys and girls to taste different disciplines. Don’t give up on 17 , you might become a top mountain biker.”
The teams consist of three boys and three girls, who have to complete some disciplines together. Milan Hanne: “I do think that there is a bit of fear among the girls, especially because the team time trial is together with the boys. That will work. I will tell the boys to help and support them. That will come alright.”
As a reward, the winners of the Sven Hills Challenge are allowed to join the pros of Kemmel Koerse on Sunday.
