During hockey, the Bloemigans provide atmosphere with smoke pots, flags and drums

They have been around for twenty years and were the first supporters group in hockey: the Bloemigans of hockey club Bloemendaal. “We try to create some atmosphere for our players and make it an absolute party,” says Bas Terheijden.

And that is what the group of about forty people does with enthusiasm. Flags, drums and at the start of the game a number of smoke pots are set off on the roof of the clubhouse. “They are really a helping hand. It creates a lot of atmosphere,” says Bloemendaal captain Glenn Schuurman.

Bloemendaal in the final

The Bloemigans saw their team beat Rotterdam 4-3 last Sunday. The team of coach Rick Mathijssen now takes on the Amsterdam Pinoké in the final.

“In hockey you usually don’t have a full stadium and a screaming audience. And now they provide something extra,” said Mathijssen about the Bloemigans.
