Duplantis flies over 6 meters again

With a one-day run-up, pole high world record holder Armand Duplantis won the jump at the start of the Diamond League in Doha. The Swede prevailed on Saturday in the one-day-delayed competition in the Aspire Academy with 6.02 m.

The competition was originally supposed to take place on Friday, but had to be moved indoors due to strong winds. After skipping his victory height, Duplantis tried three times in vain at 6.12 m.

The 22-year-old Olympic champion clearly distanced himself from his competitors. KC Lightfoot (USA), Ben Broders (Belgium) and Olympic bronze medalist Christopher Nilsen (USA) each landed on the other places with 5.71 m. Duplantis holds the world record with 6.20 m. The next meeting of the Diamond League will take place on May 21st in Birmingham, England.
