Dunhill reports significantly higher annual loss

The fashion company Alfred Dunhill Limited, which belongs to the Swiss luxury goods group Richemont, was able to increase its sales in the 2022/23 financial year, but had to accept a higher loss. This emerges from the latest annual report, which was published in the British commercial register on Monday.

In the financial year that ended at the end of March, the London-based company’s sales amounted to just under 36.4 million British pounds (42.2 million euros). This corresponded to an improvement of 9.5 percent compared to the previous year.

The growth engine was the Asian business, with an increase of 43.7 percent to 25.4 million British pounds. Revenues also rose in America and Great Britain, but in the rest of Europe and the Middle East they fell short of the previous year’s level.

However, due to significantly higher costs, the fashion company slipped deeper into the red: the operating loss rose by 36.8 percent to 49.1 million British pounds, the net loss even increased by 72.0 percent to 37.9 million British pounds (44 .0 million euros).
