Duncan Laurence had postponed it for a while because of his latest burnout, but now it’s still here: his latest single. “He just refuses all press. He hates that.”
After his blunder as a mentor of the Eurovision set Mia & Dion and his most recent burnout, Duncan Laurence is back in the public domain. The singer not only got married last weekend, but also released his latest song. However, he refuses all press, probably because he has a very difficult relationship with the media.
No interviews
Presenter Annemarie Brüning in the latest Show news: “Evert, do you understand the choice that he does not want to give an interview?”
Yes, says private boss Evert Santegoeds. “From him, yes, because he has always hated giving interviews. He thinks music should speak for him, his songs. I have written about what Arcade is about, but then he was angry about it again, because it was about an aunt and that was also private.”
Hate media
Evert states that Duncan has never been able to handle the media well. “He always hated it. He is of course also afraid that there will still be questions about this year’s duo. The question: ‘Where are they?’, for example, because we never heard anything about that (from Mia & Dion, ed.).
Colleague Patty Brard: “Also one in a burnout!”
Own choice
Duncan manages everything himself, including his PR tactics. Evert: “It is a personal choice. He does everything on his own. Writing his songs, publishing and now his publicity.”
Patty: “But I think he could improve his communication department a bit.”
Duncan can be seen as a candidate in Best Singers from 2 September. He participated in this during his burnout.
