Duncan Laurence slammed by Eurovision star: ‘Retarded photos!’

Duncan Laurence gets a lot of dung poured over him by Getty Kaspers, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with the song Ding-a-dong. “Duncan, Duncan, where is that man?!”

Getty Kaspers believes that Duncan Laurence has been too invisible around the Eurovision Song Contest in recent weeks. It seems as if he now feels too good for the song festival, according to the former singer. “Duncan? Duncan? Where is that man?” she wonders excitedly in the Privé weekly.

Retarded photos

It disturbs Getty immensely that Duncan shines with absence. “That boy has won for our country, so you have to show your face every now and then. Especially at this time of year and a lot more than he has done so far. The way he behaves in that position is just not right.”

Duncan and his fan base are just being rude, Getty seems to be saying. “When I say things like that, I get his fans right on me. All I see is him posting retarded photos on Facebook instead of doing things that really matter. Just act normal, I think.”

‘I ran away from Jan Smit’

Getty is also not really enthusiastic about Eurovision commentator Jan Smit. She regrets that he did not recognize her during a drink a few years ago. “He asked, ‘Who are you madam?’ I replied, ‘Oh boy, it’s not all that important. I only won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975.’ Then I walked away.”

Jan is therefore not a real Songfestival connoisseur, according to Getty. Someone like herself would fit in the comment box much better, she thinks. “It has been suggested in the past to put me there, but in the end it never happened.”

sick mother

It is not the first time that Getty expresses himself so strongly in the media. In 2017, for example, she went crazy with the OG3NE entry, because they were constantly talking about their sick mother. She passed away after the song festival. “Maybe they shouldn’t put too much emphasis on their sick mother!”

A year later she pleaded in the media for the resignation of Jan Smit as a commentator. “He likes a song, or he doesn’t. That’s it. He doesn’t express himself like Cornald. Cornald is Mister Song Contest. It is irreplaceable. But John…”
