Duncan Laurence says sorry for his ultra-short concert in Paradiso, but denies allegations in the media. He is furious with experts like Bart Ettekoven and Evert Santegoeds. “Gossip!”
It seems that Duncan Laurence has still not managed to gather a team of good professionals around him: he suddenly left his concert in Paradiso after an hour on Saturday evening. Telegraaf reporter Richard van de Crommert was there and immediately reported it in the newspaper. “Fans couldn’t believe it!”
Panic Attack
Duncan must have had another panic attack, it sounded in Shownieuws last night. “It’s true, he occasionally has some issues…” says show expert Bart Ettekoven. And colleague Guido den Aantrekker: “He has also been accused of arrogant behavior and star allure. He also turned out to have a number of phobias, which sometimes made him not want to rehearse.”
Private boss Evert Santegoeds today in his podcast: “It’s yet another sign that something is going on with Duncan Laurence, I think. He is a man with issues, stage fright and anxiety attacks. That’s very sad, but if it’s your job, it really gets in your way, I think. That management also has issues, they never know how to respond.”
Duncan angry
All those insinuations make Duncan furious. He responds Threads: “I apologize to everyone who was disappointed after my show in Paradiso on Saturday that the concert did not last long enough. It was never my intention to disappoint you in this. I promise that we will take this feedback very seriously and will of course extend the set.”
He continues: “I obviously want to put on the most beautiful and best show for you. I am once again shocked by how the media communicates these things and this time I will not and do not want to just watch.”
Furious at media
Duncan is really pissed off at people like Bart, Guido and Evert. “I have no phobias, I have never missed a rehearsal, my tickets do not cost 49 euros, I no longer have panic attacks, and look, I also speak Dutch and I have done so all my life.”
He continues: “I am not on hard drugs, in fact I have lost enough people in my life to them. I eat healthy and I exercise regularly. I am not anorexic. I don’t understand where these stories come from… and I don’t even want to know. And yet you tell them.”
‘It’s gossip!’
Duncan is done. “So now a sincere question from me to the journalists who know me ‘so well’ and know so well what is going on behind the scenes: is this really what you want to do with your precious life? You want to spend your platform with so many followers on finding and making up stories about others?”
He continues: “Without truth? So gossip? What a pity. There are so many topics that deserve MUCH more attention these days: wars, human rights…”
Positive things
According to Duncan, journalists are too negative. “Please, dear journalists, use your platform well, keep people sharp about things that really matter. And sometimes focus on positive things, enjoy life a little despite all the downs that we ALL experience in the world.”
He concludes: “Be kind to someone else. You too contribute to a society, in the way you choose to contribute to it. The choice is yours. And again, to those who felt disappointed, my sincere apologies. We really heard you. ❤️”
