There is increasing speculation about Duncan Laurence’s well-being. He appeared in front of the RTL Boulevard camera yesterday and made a very tired impression. “Are you okay?”
Duncan Laurence has been causing quite a bit of speculation lately, as his appearance has changed a lot in recent years. During his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest he still looked like a fresh lad, but nowadays he seems at least quite tired. According to critics such as Angela de Jong, he comes across as very woolly and absent.
Mushrooms
There is even speculation about drug use. Gerard Joling thinks that Duncan is on narcotics and Evert Santegoeds does not rule out that the Eurovision singer is on the mushrooms.
Gerard and Evert’s statements are of course meant with a wink, but the concerns about Duncan are indeed serious. Media journalist Jef Willemsen of De Telegraaf lays down Twitter two photos of the singer side by side: one from 2019 and one from yesterday in RTL Boulevard.
“Are you okay?”
Jeff is genuinely concerned. “On the right Duncan Laurence just before the Eurovision victory in 2019, on the left Duncan just at RTL Boulevard. A lot can happen in four years and of course nobody stays young and fresh forever. But hopefully everything will go as well with him as he says it will.”
One Toos says: “I still think Arcade is very beautiful, but I really got a letdown from Duncan, so made so scary and always that scary chest of his in the picture, he really started walking next to his pumps.”
Jef: “At least he reinvented himself, let’s stop there 😅”
‘Difference is striking’
One Lianne is shocked by Duncan’s eyes. “Oh dear, what a dead look.”
Jeff: “Yes. I don’t like to stress someone’s appearance, but the difference in such a relatively short time is striking to say the least.”
Lianne speculates: “It’s the same look Andre Hazes had right before he went into rehab. Such a shame.”
Jef: “I hear you say it. #hopeforthebest.”
