BUDAPEST – Mathieu van der Poel was able to live well with his second place (11.53) in the Giro time trial and keeping the pink jersey. Simon Yates turned out to be the fastest on the streets of Budapest over the 9.2 kilometers in a time of 11.50 minutes. Tom Dumoulin (11.55), who had his sights set on winning the time trial and the pink, was most disappointed with how the day went. ,,I felt there was power, but I didn’t have miracle legs,’ said Dumoulin, who finished third.
