Dukes of Hazzard TV series car crashed in US | Bizarre

A Dodge Charger from the TV series Dukes of Hazzard crashed in Missouri this week. This time, however, the car was not driven by men named Bo and Luke.

The 1969 Dodge Charger, which according to the Western Taney County Police Department was used during the filming of the original TV series ‘Dukes of Hazzard’, was involved in a single-vehicle car accident in Missouri last weekend. Two people in the car suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital, police said.

Didn’t crash from bridge jump

According to Hollister Police Chief Preston Schmidt, it is established that “the driver of the vehicle was speeding for the conditions and that he lost control of the vehicle he was driving.” Photos provided by the Western Taney County Fire Protection District show that the muscle car went off the road and crashed into a tree.

Photographs of the wreck show the signatures of the Dukes of Hazzard’s protagonists, but the owner told local media his car was not used in the series. However, all the protagonists would have driven the car. The original TV series aired on CBS between 1979 and 1985, with a Hollywood movie following in 2005. While many cars were destroyed during filming, some survived the filming and were later sold to private owners.

Between 250 and 330 cars demolished during filming

Estimates for the number of cars built for the original TV show range from about 250 to 330, while about 25 were made for the 2005 film. In 1991, the Warner Brothers film company sold 17 cars to private owners. The orange 1969 Dodge Charger with the black 01 graphics on the doors is one of the most recognizable movie cars in history, but the car has also been the subject of controversy in recent years because of the Confederate flag on the roof.
