Duisburg is withdrawing its application for a location as part of the German application process for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

As the city confirmed, the roof of the arena in Duisburg is so badly damaged that it cannot be renovated until December 31, 2026. According to the FIFA statutes, all renovation work must be completed by then.
