Health insurer DSW will increase the health care premium for 2023 by more than 7.5 percent. Other health insurance companies are expected to follow suit.
Some companies will even come up with even higher price increases, comparison site Zorgkiezer expects. For a large number of people, health insurance is therefore becoming unaffordable. Especially in combination with the higher energy prices.
People with a small wallet may have to choose: do I put money aside to heat my house or to pay for any medical expenses? Anyone who has not been ill so far and who has always passed the dental check-up may opt for the latter.
With all the associated risks. Because even if you are not often sick and you have rarely or never had an accident, if something happens to you, it will soon be in the paper. Especially if, for example, ambulance transport and/or hospital admissions and operations have to be involved.
