DRV boats also weak in B-finals

24 hours before the medal race of singles world champion Oliver Zeidler and the women’s double sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, the German boats again largely disappointed in the B finals on Saturday. In the four races with active members of the German Rowing Association (DRV), only the successful foursome of the men without a coxswain achieved a respectable result.

Otherwise, the German rowers once again had to deal with sobering results. The women’s easy double sculls only came sixth and last in their consolation run, as did the women’s quad sculls. The men’s light twos took fourth place in the World Cup finals and ranked tenth.

After the DRV medals last Friday in two non-Olympic classes and the end of the successful eight, Zeidler and the women’s double scull on Sunday are the last World Cup trumps for the German team. Zeidler is one of the favorites in the final not only because of his title from 2019.
