The 20-year-old man from Roermond, who stormed the field two weeks ago during PSV-Sevilla and attacked the goalkeeper of the away team, will appear in court on Wednesday morning. He will probably immediately determine the punishment. De Limburger is suspected of assault and violating an area ban.
The man received that area ban after previous misconduct around football matches in 2021 and 2022. He was also given community service for this at the time. PSV itself also imposed a stadium ban on him.
Drunk
The Public Prosecution Service previously announced that the previous violations will also be included in the case that will be heard on Wednesday through summary proceedings. This also applies to the fact that the supporter was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his action. He had a blood alcohol level of over 1.6, which is equivalent to about 10 glasses of beer.
Incidentally, PSV now also has a view of the supporter who would have bought a ticket for the 20-year-old hooligan. He will most likely also receive a stadium ban, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by the club.
Penalty for PSV
It is not yet known what punishment PSV will receive from the UEFA football association. In any case, a hefty fine will probably follow, but additional, heavier penalties may also be imposed. Think of playing a match without an audience, or in the worst case even exclusion from European football in the upcoming season.
