Drunk teenagers attack rescue workers

A rescue operation in Hohenschönhausen escalated on Wednesday night in such a way that the police had to move in. After the paramedics, police officers were also attacked.

Rescue workers from the fire brigade were alerted to Egon-Erwin-Kisch-Strasse around midnight because of an injured youth.

The 18-year-old and her boyfriend of the same age are said to have previously argued, and the girl was injured. While the young woman was being treated in the ambulance, her partner is said to have tried to get into the vehicle.

Because the paramedics stopped him, the 18-year-old, who was clearly drunk and injured by falling into a thorn hedge, rioted.

Firefighters called the police to help. When the officers arrived, a drunk 25-year-old from a larger group of 18- to 33-year-olds, with whom the young people had previously drunk and celebrated, suddenly got involved.

A police spokeswoman: “The woman insulted and attacked the officers, kicked at a colleague and punched another in the head.” The police eventually managed to calm the situation.

The attacker was released after identifying her identity on the spot. The 18-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment, but her boyfriend refused treatment for his injuries. Charges of physical harm and insult were written against those involved in the attacks on the rescue workers and the police officers.
