Drunk man disrupts commemoration of death in Breda

The commemoration of death in Breda was disrupted on Thursday evening. During the two minutes of silence in Park Valkenberg, a drunk man started screaming. The man shouted that he had served as a soldier. When a man from the organization approached him, he started to get even more upset.

The man was walking around in the park well before the commemoration started, a 112 correspondent knows. “He told everyone he’s a veteran. Most people tried to stay away from him.”

There was nothing wrong with the wreath-laying ceremony. But when the two minutes of silence started, the drunk man ran onto the field. He shouted that he was in the army and had to do “things that the dogs don’t like to eat”.

A man from the organization spoke to him, after which the man started to shout even louder. An officer and a member of the public then provided reinforcements. The man in the audience jumped on the drunk man, after which the two of them carried him off the field.

The police immediately imposed an area ban on the man. He is not allowed to enter the park for the time being.
