Drunk man causes commotion in Koksijde

The 54-year-old from Geraardsbergen was arrested on Sunday around 5:30 pm by the police of the West Coast zone after they received a report of a hit-and-run toddler. The child turned out to be hit by the man on horseback, who crawled onto a horse in a drunken state. Before that, he also harassed passers-by from his bicycle.

The toddler was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The man himself did not cooperate with his arrest and had to be overpowered by the police. His driver’s license was immediately revoked for fifteen days for driving under the influence of alcohol.
