Drunk driver with uninsured moped gets four fines in Meppel

A moped driver received four fines tonight. The driver initially stood out in Meppel because he was not wearing a helmet.

Law enforcement officers later found out that the moped was not insured. At the station they gave a stop sign to start a conversation. During that conversation, they smelled a strong alcoholic odor. The support of the police was then requested.

It didn’t get any better for the driver. Inquiries revealed that he had had an invalid driver’s license for some time. It meant four fines for the driver: for driving without a helmet, for driving an uninsured moped, for driving under the influence and for driving with an invalid driver’s license.
