Drunk driver swaps places with dog to get out of arrest | Abroad

A Colorado motorist who was stopped by the police for exceeding the speed limit has made a very playful attempt to evade arrest. He put his dog behind the wheel and got into the passenger seat himself.

An officer who directed the man to the side of the road on Saturday evening in Springfield, a city of about 1,300 residents, watched from a distance as the man changed places with the necessary effort and then got out on the passenger side. The man, who according to the officer showed clear signs of drunkenness, then said he had not been behind the wheel, the police wrote in a Facebook message.

When the man was asked about the amount of alcohol he had consumed that day, he ran off. He didn’t get further than 20 meters, then he was caught by the agent.

After being examined at a hospital, the driver was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, including driving under the influence, speeding and fleeing from police. He also had two previous convictions to his name.
