At around three o’clock on Friday night, the residents of a house on Geluwsesteenweg were woken up by a loud bang. A dark gray BMW had crashed into a facade. The driver, a 32-year-old man, removed his license plates immediately after the accident and tried to flee. He ran away on foot through the surrounding fields, but police quickly caught him. The man’s driver’s license was immediately revoked for fifteen days.
Westhoek Fire Department cleared the debris and secured the house. The material damage was considerable, but fortunately no one was injured.
