Talking Heads members Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth were involved in a serious car accident. Both were hit head-on by a drunk driver two weeks ago. Weymouth broke three ribs and his sternum.
“I was traveling with Tina Weymouth on Post Road, US Route 1, when we were hit head-on by a drunk driver driving on the wrong side of the road,” Frantz said on Facebook.
Thanks to the guardian angel
“It’s unbelievable that we survived the collision,” continued Frantz. “Tina underwent a computed tomography and suffered three broken ribs and a fractured sternum. She is in a lot of pain but will get better with time.”
The Talking Heads drummer concluded by thanking their guardian angel “and Ford Motor Company for building a car that saved us from dying”.
Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth founded the Talking Heads together with David Byrne in 1975, got married and had worldwide success in 1980 with their own band Tom Tom Club. In 2021, the two actually received their first Grammy for their performance with the Talking Heads.
