Boxing star Deontay Wilder was arrested in Los Angeles the night before Tuesday around one o’clock, says TMZ.
The police stopped a man driving a Rolls-Royce because the windows of his car were illegally tinted and the license plate was not visible properly.
According to TMZ, the officers smelled marijuana during the stop, so they decided to investigate the car further. A pistol and cannabis were found in the luxury cart.
Wilder was charged with possession of a concealed weapon and drug possession. According to TMZ’s sources, the man was cooperative and comfortable during the arrest.
Wilder was released on Tuesday morning at 6:34.
The 37-year-old iron fist has fought in the professional ring 46 times. He has 43 wins under his belt, 42 of which have come by knockout.
Rumor has it that Wilder and Anthony Joshua the camps are discussing a super match between the two, which could take place later this year. According to TMZ, it is still unclear whether the Yankees hitter’s arrest will affect the negotiations in any way.
Wilder’s previous fight was last October. That’s when he knocked out of Robert Helenius right in the first round.
