Drug lab found in Holsloot: eight people arrested

The police found a drug lab on Eldijk in Holsloot on Thursday. It is a lab for synthetic drugs that was still under construction. Eight people have been arrested for involvement.

This is reported by the police.

The drug lab was found after a police investigation. Police raided the building around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Four people were arrested in and around the building: two men (54 and 57) from The Hague, a 40-year-old man from Coevorden and a 41-year-old woman from Amsterdam.

Another four

Later that day, another four suspects were arrested: a 57-year-old man from Oudenbosch, a 55-year-old man from Oud Gastel, a 28-year-old man from The Hague and a 46-year-old man from Rotterdam. The suspects are in custody and will be heard about their role.

All the necessities for a drug lab

The drug lab was not yet operational, but all supplies for the production of synthetic drugs were found in the building, the police said. ‘It concerns a complete lab set-up including boilers, chemicals and burners. Research has to show what kind of drugs would be produced.’

Investigate the property

Specialists from the National Dismantling Facility (LFO) of the police are investigating the building on Thursday, together with the detectives. ‘LFO investigates the chemicals found and ensures that the drug lab is dismantled and evacuated in a safe manner. Forensic specialists will also conduct an investigation on Thursday. Two vehicles and several data carriers have been seized for investigation.’
