Drug action in Roosendaal: four suspects arrested

The police arrested four men on Friday in a drug operation on the Heilig Hartplein in Roosendaal. Drugs were seized in an upstairs apartment and the police are asking the municipality to close the house. The action is the follow-up to a major drug campaign that was held there a month ago.

The police then took action after several reports of nuisance in the vicinity of the square. Drugs have been around for a long time. Five people were then arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. A telephone shop and a lunch shop were also raided. The police found more than forty kilos of hashish and several thousand euros in cash.

Friday’s arrests are the follow-up to this action. One of the suspects was arrested in a house above some shops, the others near the square.

One of them violated an area restraining order. According to the police, he was also arrested during the action in October and was no longer allowed to enter the square. All suspects are in custody for further investigation.
