Along the Reeweg near Emmen, several blue barrels have been found where possible dangerous substances. That is why a large part of the road has been closed.
A police spokesperson says that two large barrels and a jerry can were found this morning around ten o’clock. “It is unclear what is in the vessels. That may be synthetic or chemical waste. But because we do not yet know what is in it, we have chosen to drop a large area.”
A specialist from the Drenthe Safety Region is currently investigating which substances are in the barrels.
