The Dropkick Murphys have shared the first taste of the forthcoming expanded edition of their eleventh album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists (2022), with “Cadilac, Cadilac” (feat. Sammy Amara of The Broilers) and music video. The expanded work will be published on January 13th and was published by Ted Hutt produces.
On their most recent record, the Dropkick Murphys took the works of the late writer and singer-songwriter Woody Guthrie and made them their own versions. The announced extended album will also contain three live versions and two new creations of previously released tracks (“Never Git Drunk No More”, “Cadillac, Cadillac”).
“I must have a Cadillac”
About the single “Cadillac, Cadillac”, Ken Casey, singer and bass player with the Dropkick Murphys, was quoted in the press release as follows: “‘Cadillac, Cadillac’ is the story of the man who stands on the corner and watches how the American Dream rolls by on four wheels. He doesn’t have one, but he knows he needs one..’I need to have a Cadillac.’”
