Rob Goossens always clips his fingernails behind the wheel of his car. That’s why he keeps nail clippers in his car. “I make sure all the nails fall neatly on my lap.”
32-year-old RTL Boulevard star Rob Goossens has a strange habit. He clips his fingernails in the car, behind the wheel of his Mazda MX-5, and that’s quite eccentric. Most people cut their nails at home, usually in the bathroom, for example in the shower or with their foot on the toilet seat.
Mobile nail salon
Rob makes his revelation in an interview with AutoWeek magazine. “Many people will find this gross, but I love clipping my nails in the car. Clipping my nails is something that needs to be done, but I never feel like it. You can cut in the car until you weigh an ounce.”
Isn’t it impractical to cut your nails behind the wheel? “The trick is to make sure everything stays on your lap, so that when you get out you can throw it out of the car in one go.”
Addicted to pastilles
Does Rob have any other strange car habits? “I am addicted to Anis de Flavigny pastilles. When I get in the car, I always put a piece of candy in my mouth first. If I’m doing something really exotic, I’ll put two in my mouth at the same time. But it doesn’t get any crazier.”
In addition to his Mazda convertible, Rob also has an old Volvo V70 from 2000. “I’m still very happy with it, because it drives well and there is a ridiculous amount of space in the back.”
