It’s drizzly and ‘dirty weather’ when you step outside on Tuesday. And Wednesday we can prepare for another pretty turbulent day. It fits right in with the weather we’ve had for the past month. Because January was very soft with an average temperature of 5.8 degrees, but also soaking wet. That says Rico Schröder of Weerplaza. An average of 126 millimeters of precipitation fell over the whole of the Netherlands, while 72 millimeters is usual.
So it won’t get any better for the time being, Rico told Tuesday morning in the radio program ‘WAKE UP!’ on Omroep Brabant. Also this Tuesday morning and afternoon, some light rain and drizzle will move over the province from the west. “It’s not all that crazy, but it’s a bit drizzly,” said Rico. “It’s kind of dirty weather when you go outside.”
“Wednesday will be a heady day.”
Later in the afternoon it will gradually become dry. “With a bit of luck, we will occasionally see the sun in the west of the province at the end of the afternoon.” In addition, it is about 8 or 9 degrees and there is a moderate west-southwest wind. The coming evening and night will also be dry. “The temperature then drops to 2 or 3 degrees. That is cool.”
And there’s a heady Wednesday ahead. Then some showers will move across the province again. “We start the day dry, with the occasional sun. But later it really starts to rain. It will be a very turbulent day with wind force 5 and in the west 6, a strong wind.”
“Only at the weekend do we see the sun break through again every now and then.”
It will also be mostly cloudy on Thursday and Friday. “Even then there is some rain now and then. We only see the sun break through once in a while at the weekend and then it stays dry. The temperature then reaches 9 or 10 degrees, so it is certainly not cold.”
