Ruurd Jan Roorda (65) will become the new chairman of the supervisory board (SB) of the Ommelander Hospital in Scheemda.
He will succeed Henk Bakker on January 1, who will step down at the end of his second term. Roorda is trained as a pediatrician and also has extensive experience as a director and supervisor in healthcare. He currently works as director of the Stadshagen Health House Foundation and as a Youth Health Care doctor at GGD IJsselland, both in Zwolle.
“I am pleased with the appointment of Ruurd Jan Roorda as chairman of our supervisory board,” said Bas Wallis de Vries, chairman of the board of directors, in a press release. ‘His broad knowledge and experience in healthcare is very valuable to us. We see Ruurd Jan Roorda as a good successor to Henk Bakker, who has fulfilled his chairmanship with gusto for many years.’
