A motorist who only recently obtained a driver’s license had to hand it in on Friday evening on the A16 near Breda. The driver noticed the officers because he overtook them antisocially on the right at a speed of more than 170 kilometers per hour.
The driver also drove very close to the people in front of him. Only at Zevenbergschen Hoek were the officers able to stop the 24-year-old driver. The motorist will soon have to follow a course in ‘behaviour and traffic’.
Puff of a joint
Also in the Spoorlaan in Nieuwkuijk, an inconspicuous motorcycle police officer saw a motorist racing along the road. This driver (22) was driving at a speed of 114 kilometers per hour, where a speed limit of 70 kilometers per hour applies. When the motorcycle cop approached the driver, he was just taking a drag from a joint. Blood was taken from the driver at the police station.
