Driver Kevin Magnussen (29) returns to Formula 1. The Dane has signed a multi-season contract with the American Haas racing team, the formation reports. Magnussen also played for Haas between 2017 and 2020.
“It was not a difficult decision,” said team boss Günther Steiner. “We know what Kevin can do and have confidence in him. Moreover, he is available immediately.” The intention is that Magnussen will be in action in Bahrain in the coming days on the test days.
Haas recently terminated its contract with Russian driver Nikita Mazepin. Ties with the Russian main sponsor Uralkali were also severed with immediate effect. All this because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Mazepin has since announced that it is considering legal action.
